The boys and girls 53rd District basketball Tournaments begin tonight at the Morton Combs Athletic Complete at Knott County Central in Hindman.

Tonight's 2 play in games will be girls #5 seed Cordia taking on #4 seed June Buchanan at 6pm.  The winner will play #1 seed Knott County Central on Wednesday at 6pm.

Game 2 tonight at 8pm will be boys #5 seed Jenkins against #4 seed June Buchanan.  The winner will play #1 seed Knott County Central at 8pm Wednesday. 

Both Letcher County Central teams will be in action Tuesday.
At 6pm The #2 seed Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play #3 seed Jenkins and at 8pm Tuesday #3 seed Letcher County Central Cougar boys will play #2 seed Cordia.

We'll bring you both Letcher County Central games on Tuesday in the district tournament.  Pre-game will start at 5:30 here on the Bulldog. 

The girls championship game will be Friday at 6 followed by the boys championship game at 8pm Friday.   You can get the entire tournament bracket at our website, 1039thebulldog.com

The other basketball district tournaments also begin tonight or tomorrow night across the state as post season play begins.  For details visit our website. 

De-Aaron Fox scored 16 points, including six free throws in the final 45 seconds, and No. 13 Kentucky overcame J.J. Frazier's 36 points to beat Georgia 82-77 on Saturday night on the road.  Malik Monk also had 16 for the Cats who are now 22-5 overall and 12-2 in the SEC. 

Up next KY will visit Missouri Tuesday night for  a 9pm tipoff.

The Coach Cal Show, Coach Matthew Mitchell Show and BIg Blue Weekly will be broadcast on Wednesday this week starting at 6pm.

Senior Evelyn Akhator scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Kentucky women’s basketball team beat Florida 67-48 on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum.

Sophomore Maci Morris had 15 points, scoring in double figures for the seventh time in the last eight games. Senior Makayla Epps was the third Wildcat in double figures, scoring 14 points.

The UK Women are now 19-8 overall and 10-4 in the SEC.  They will return to action Thursday when they play Mississippi State at home.
