2 more games were played in the 53rd District Tournament last night at the Morton Combs Athletic Complex in Hindman and both featured wins by Letcher County Central.

In game one, the LCC Lady Cougars held off the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers 44-34 to advance to Friday's girls championship game.  Jenkins ends their season at 5-26.

In game 2 of the evening, after splitting the regular season games, the LCC Cougar boys beat Cordia 66-57 to move on to the district championship game on Friday.  The Cordia Lions finish the year at 13-11.

Two more 53rd district semi-final games will be played tonight in Hindman.  Game one will be girls action as #1 seed Knott County Central will play #4 seed June Buchanan.  In game 2, it's the boys as #1 seed Knott County Central faces #5 seed, the Jenkins Cavaliers.  Tonight's 2 winners will also advance to the district tournament championship games on Friday.  We'll bring you both championship games live Friday night here on the Bulldog with pre-game starting at 5:30.

In the boys 54th district semi-finals last night Perry County Central beat Leslie County 60-33, in the boys 55th district semi's Breathitt County over Riverside 79-37 and Wolfe County over Jackson City 74-53,  in the boys 56th district it was Estill County over Owsley County 52-39 and Powell County beating Lee County 100-61.  No girls games were played last night in the 54th, 55th and 56th districts.

Tonight's games include on the boys side
In the 54th Hazard against Buckhorn and in the 53rd Jenkins against Knott County Central
In the girls no games will be playe in the 54th, 55th or 56th but in the 53rd June Buchanan will face Knott County Central.

All boys and girls district championship games will be played Thursday and Friday.

Next week is the 14th Region Tournaments being held at Hazard's Memorial Gym for the girls and at the Woods Colisueum in Jackson for the boys. 

Bam Adebayo's fourth double-double of the season helped No. 11 Kentucky avoid a late-season upset, as he scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in the Wildcats' 72-62 victory over Missouri on the road Tuesday night.  The Cats improve to 23-5 overall and 13-2 in the SEC. 

The Wildcats remain tied with No. 13 Florida for first place in the SEC and will face the Gators in Lexington this Saturday in a big rematch.  Florida beat KY 88-66 on Feb 4th in Gainsville. 

KY and Florida will tip off at 2pm Saturday afternoon with pre-game starting at 12:30.
