The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars got by Breathitt County 63-53 last night in the opening Round of the girls 14th Region Tournament at Hazard! Emma Maggard had a double double of 22 points and 10 rebounds,  Paige Caudill had 10 boards and Cameron Kincer put in 18 points including four 3's for the LCC girls who will now advance to the semifinals on Friday to face Leslie County who beat Owsley County 81-64 in last night's 2nd game. LCC-Leslie County will tip off at 6 Friday and we'll have all the action on 103.9 The Bulldog. The Appalachian Wireless pre-game will begin at 5:30!

The girls 14th Region Tournament continues tonight at Hazard with Knott County Central taking on Estill County at 6pm followed by Perry County Central against Wolfe County. 

Again the semifinals will be Friday starting at 6 and the girls championship game is Saturday at 7. 

In the girls 13th Region Tournament that began last night at the Arena in Corbin, Harlan County beat Corbin 77-53 and North Laurel got by Lynn Camp 74-64.  Tonight South Laurel plays Knox Central at 6pm, followed by Clay County against Harlan.

The Girls 15th Region Tournament started last night at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikevile with Pike County Central beating Betsy Layne 57-50 and in Overtime Johnson Central squeezed by Pikeville 69-68.  Tonight's 2 games will be South Floyd against Lawrence County at 6:30 with Shelby Valley taking on Paintsville at 8.  


The boys 14th Region Tournament begins Wednesday at Breathitt County in Jackson.   The Letcher County Central Cougar boys will open the tournament when they face Powell County at 6pm Wednesday and we'll bring you the game here on the Bulldog with pre-game starting at 5:30.  Game 2 around 8pm Wednesday will be Perry County Central taking on Breathitt County.  Thursday's 2 games will be Estill County against Buckhorn at 6pm followed by Wolfe County taking on Knott County Central.  The boys semi-finals will be Monday of next week and the championship game on Tuesday all at Breathitt County. 

The boys 13th region tournament begins Wednesday and will also be played at the Arena in Corbin.

The boys 15th region tournament begins Wednesday and will also be played at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikeville.

The KY Wildcats are back up to #9 in the latest rankings this week sitting at 24-5 overall and 14-2 in the SEC.  The Cats have 2 more games left in the regular season.  They will play Vanderbilt in Lexington tonight with a 9pm tipoff. Pre-game starts at 7:30 here on the Bulldog. It's senior night tonight for the Cats as they honor Dominique Hawkings, Michael Mulder and Derek Willis.  Kentucky will then play Texas A & M on the road Saturday with a 12 noon tipoff to finish the regular season.

The Men's SEC Tournament will be March 8th through 12th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The No. 22 University of Kentucky women basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed and a double-bye in the 2016-17 Southeastern Conference Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.   Kentucky will begin the event Friday at 2 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals and will play the winner of fifth-seeded Tennessee vs. 12th-seeded Alabama or 13th-seeded Vanderbilt.
