LCC Wins Over Knott Central; Jenkins Beats Phelps

Freshman Sarah Richardson hit for the cycle, Chloe Wampler homered and Kelsey Bentley had 4 hits as theLetcher County Central Lady Cougars softball team grabbed a 17-0 district win over Knott County Central in Hindman last night.  

Alyssa Nicely picked up the shutout win giving up just one hit, striking out 6 and walking two in 4 innings. 

The Lady Cougars have won 7 of their last 8 games and are 15-9 on the season.  

The Lady Cougars will be back in action at home tonight to face Cordia in a district doubleheader. 

It’s also senior night for the Lady Cougars as they honor Alyssa  Nicely, Chloe Wampler and Kaylee Young.  

The Jenkins Lady Cavs beat Phelps 15-0  in 3 innings last night.  They have now won 3 games in a  row and improved to 8-7.

8th Grader Johannah Banks pitches a no hitter with 3 strikeouts for the Lady Cavaliers. 

The Jenkins girls will next play this coming Monday with a road game at Jackson City.
