Misty D. Ison, age 53, of Isom, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Arrangements for Misty D. Ison are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by the Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg.  

Robert “Bob” Dean Amburgey

Robert “Bob” Dean Amburgey, age 71, of Colson, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.

He is survived by his wife: Shelia; 1 daughter: Marlene Lowe; 1 grandson; 2 sisters: Dora Cornett and Anna Tyree and 1 brother: Rosevelt Amburgey.

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Dean Amburgey will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Glen Gross officiating. 

Visitation will be after 9:00am today, Thursday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery at Pistol City.

Curtis Kilgore

Curtis Kilgore, age 91 of Neon, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. 

He is survived his wife: Mary Holbrook Kilgore; 3 sons: Danny Kilgore of Ohio, Melvin Kilgore of Neon and Curtis Kilgore of Hazard; 3 daughters: Gale Ditmer of Ohio, Donna Elwald of Ohio and Denia Adams of Eolia; 1 sister: Irene Godsey of Illinois; daughter-in-law: Debbie Kilgore along with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Curtis Kilgore will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Holbrook officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm tomorrow, Friday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Goose Creek Cemetery at Neon.

Mattie Lou (Caudill) Back

Mattie Lou (Caudill) Back, age 85, of Jeremiah, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home.

She is survived by 1 daughter: Alma Rose Blair and 5 sons: Timothy Joseph Back, Edward Allen Back and Darryn (Hippie) Back all of Jeremiah, Tommy (Shakey) Back of Eolia and Adrian (Boo) Back of Parrish, Florida, 9 Grand Children, 23 Great Grand Children and 1 Great-Great Grand Child.

Funeral services for Mattie Lou (Caudill) Back will be held at 12:00 Noon, today, Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Blair Branch Church with Danny Dixon, Roy Slone and Toby Breeding officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Edwin Back Cemetery at Jeremiah.

Merle Edward Adams, age 60, of Jenkins, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at his residence.

He is survived by his:

Mother – Marjorie Sands

Wife – Tonya Roberts

2 Children – Tyler and Jordon 

1 Granddaughter – Maddie

2 Brothers – William Adams and Randall Adams

2 Sisters – Jackie Morrison and Anita Davis

Mother-in-law and Father-in-law – Polly and Roscoe Roberts

Memorial services for Merle Edward Adams will be held at 2:00pm Saturday May 11, 2024 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, with Joe Banks officiating. 

Visitation will be held at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel from 11:00am Saturday until time of service at 2:00pm

Craig Fields

Craig Fields, age 64, of Viper passed away on Saturday May 4, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.

He is survived by his wife: Mallie Ann Fields of Viper; 1 daughter: Chassity Woolums of Cynthiana; 1 son: Craig Justin Fields of Lexington; 1 Grandson; 2 brothers: Rufus Fields of Line Fork and George Fields of Viper and 1 sister: Judy Fields of Viper. 

A Private Service for Craig Fields will be held at the cemetery at a later date for family and close friends.
