Work Starts Next Week on Cram Creek Bridge at Mayking

Work starts next week to replace the KY 1862 Bridge at Mayking in Letcher County.

The bridge carries traffic across the North Fork of the Kentucky River between Dye Addition
and KY 3410 near US 119.

KYTC says the work will require a temporary road closure at the construction site starting Monday June 24 and going through the end of August as the bridge will be demolished and replaced by a new two-lane bridge.

Beginning Monday, contractors will barricade the bridge from KY 1862 at milepoint 1.3 to KY 3410 near US 119.

Traffic will follow a detour using Thornton Road, KY 3410, and US 119.
