16-Year-Old Arrested in Perry County Fatal Shooting

A 16-year-old is in custody following a Monday afternoon fatal shooting in Viper.

Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle says the victim, now identified as Wallace Cornett, was killed
with a shotgun around 2pm Monday at a home at the Middle Fork of Maces Creek
Road.

WYMT reports a 16-year-old was detained and charged with one count of murder.

The Sheriff’s office has not given out his name or clarified how he and the victim were connected.

He said they also do not know what led up to it but had enough probable cause for a murder charge.
