A swimming advisory has been issued for the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River above
Fishtrap Lake in Pike County.
The Kentucky Division of Water and the Kentucky Department for Public Health say flood-related damage to the wastewater collection system in Buchanan County in Virginia has caused the ongoing release of untreated wastewater into Levisa Fork.
They say results of testing show risky levels of E. coli.
They say to avoid swimming, wading, kayaking, jet skiing and waterskiing.
