The Whitesburg Municipal Swimming Pool could be open by the July 4 weekend. The pool was already looking at needing repairs in the summer of 2022 when the massive flood hit and has been closed since.
Whitesburg Mayor Tiffany Craft tells the Mountain Eagle city workers are currently installing new plumbing and then there will be inspections.
Following that they need to pour new concrete.
The mayor says when all is said and done they think it will cost less than the estimated $2 million to fix it and the city is applying for a Land and Water Conservation grant to help pay for it.
