Drilling Repairs Underway on KY 1103 in Letcher County

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (June 2, 2025) β€“The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises the public that drilling repairs are underway on KY 1103 in Letcher County. Crews from NATTCO began work this morning at mile point 1.45, approximately one-tenth of a mile north of Ingrams Creek, to address a break in the roadway.

Due to the narrow width of the road at the worksite, the equipment necessary for drilling cannot safely pass through while work is ongoing. As a result, KY 1103 will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on both Wednesday, July 2, and Thursday, July 3.

This route connects KY 7 (near the Perry County line) and KY 160. Detours are available:

  • Motorists traveling from the north end of KY 1103 can detour to KY 7.
  • Those approaching from the south end can detour to KY 160.

Emergency vehicles will be accommodated as needed, although there may be brief delays if crews are actively drilling at the time of access.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, follow posted signage, and use caution in the area.
