Alberta Hatton Baker

Alberta Hatton Barker, age 93, of Whitco, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Whitesburg ARH.

She is survived by two daughters: Sherry Diana Sturgill and Missy Caudill; three grandchildren: Matt Sturgill, Levi Caudill, and Laken Caudill and one great grandson.

A Celebration of Life for Alberta Barker will be held at a future date.

Alvin Richard Spanger Jr.

Alvin Richard Spangler Jr., age 54, of Virgie, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at his residence. 

He is survived by his father: Alvin Spangler Sr of Whitesburg; his step mother: Juanita Spangler of Whitesburg; his wife: Tressa Newsome Spangler; one son: Brice Spangler; three daughters: Albany Kiser, Keesha Dials and Alexandria Stocker; two sisters: Kelly Michelle Holbrook and Emilie Spangler; a special aunt: Sylvia Skotnicki; three grandchildren and one on the way and a special nephew: Andrew Smith. 

Funeral services for Alvin Richard Spangler Jr will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home at Virgie with Jarvey Kiser and others officiating. 

Burial will follow in the M & L Cemetery at Little Robinson. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Friday, July 11, 2025, and after 6:00pm Saturday July 12, 2025 with services nightly at 7:00pm.

Amy Wright

Amy Wright, age 50, of Neon passed away Monday July 7, 2025, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. 

She is survived by her mother: Nelda Taylor of Neon; two daughters: Kassidy Nicole Bolling and Spencer Kate Little; four brothers: Matthew Wright of Dunham, Travis Day of Whitesburg, Ed Taylor and Jimmy Taylor;!six sisters: Ashley Adams of Jenkins, K.B. Hall of Neon, Megan Caudill of Hindman, Jessica Fletcher of Ohio, Missy Taylor and Theresa McHone; three uncles: Gary Wright of Florida, Jeffrey Wright of Lexington and Tim Wright of Neon; two aunts: Martha Bentley of McRoberts and Karen Phillips of Neon; special friends: Donna Sturgill Watts, Tiffany Austin Wright, Dana Patterson Arroz and Amanda Little Johnson.

Funeral services for Amy Wright will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at the Seco Freewill Baptist Church with Rocky Craft officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Friday, at the Seco Freewill Baptist Church with services starting both nights at 7:00pm.

Burial will follow in the McRoberts Cemetery.

Trey Vaughn Stewart, age 23, of Jenkins, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Cumberland.

He is survived by his parents: Roy Amos and Lakisha Stewart Longstreath; 1 son: Tryston Stewart; 1 daughter: Evangelique Stewart; 3 siblings: Taniyah Amos, DaJhan Amos and Mylan Amos. 

Services for Trey Vaughn Stewart will be held at a later date.

Kieranee Elaine Smith, age 9, of Ermine passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Cumberland. 

She is survived by her mother: Jennifer Smith; 1 brother: Tryston Stewart 1 sister: Evie Stewert and Stepmother: Dominique Boggs.

Funeral services for Kieranee Elaine Smith will be held at 2:00 this afternoon, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Craft Colley Baptist Church with Lonnie Sexton and Buddy Collins officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery at Ermine.

He is survived by wife: Sharon Vanover Slone; 1 son: John Christopher Slone of Cowan; 1 daughter: Ashley LeAnn Stacy of Pikeville and 1 sister: Rachel Brammell of Grayson.

Shirley Caudill Collins, age 69, of Premium passed away on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at her residence.

She is survived by her sons:  J R Collins of Premium and honorary son: Adrian Collins of Kingdom Come; 1 grandchild; 4 sisters: Elaine Caudill of Premium, Eleaner Jacobs of Premium, Martha Collins of Premium and Darlene Shephard of Sandlick; brothers Nance Caudill of Isom and Ames Caudill of Isom; special nieces: Billie Jo Hatton, Katrina Shepherd-Whisenant, Diana Turnmyre, April Shepherd Morell and Emma Jacobs Ison along with lifelong friend Carol Ann Combs.

Funeral services for Shirley Caudill Collins will be held at 7:00 Saturday July 12, 2025 at the Big Cowan Old Regular Baptist Church m with Elders of the church officiating. 

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Saturday, July 12, 2025 until time of service at 7:00pm.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the church by 10:30 am Saturday July 12, 2025 to prepare to go in procession to the Caudill Family Cemetery at Premium for graveside services.

Wallace Cornett, age 63, of Viper, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. 

He is survived by Two Sisters: Monique Halcomb & Connie Halcomb; Two Brothers: Keven Cornett & Wetzel Cornett; Stepson: James Stuart Campbell and Three Grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Upper Middle Fork Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Wallace Cornett will be held at 12:00 noon Sunday July 13, 2025 at the Upper Middle Fork Church of Christ with Wes Halcomb officiating. 

Burial will be in the Family Cemetery at Viper. 

In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made towards the funeral expenses.

and Gary Wayne Creech II of London; two brothers: David Wayne Creech of Cumberland and Bill D. Creech of Waco, TX; a sister: Ruth A Jackson of Lily; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on this evening, Friday, July 11, 2025 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.

A memorial service for Gary Wayne Creech will follow at 7:00pm this evening, Friday, with David Creech officiating.
