Reds Win Series Over Rockies Before All Star Break; Tito Picks up 2000th Win

TJ Friedl homered and Cincinnati manager Terry Francona got his 2,000th win when he directed the Reds to a 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Matt McLain and Austin Hays each had two hits as Cincinnati won the rubber game of the weekend series.

The Reds have won 4 of their last 6 and are 50-47 at the All-Star break.

They are 7.5 games behind the Cubs in NL Central and 2.5 games back in the NL wild card race.

They will resume play after the all-star break on Friday when they kick off a 6-game trip with a 3-game series against the Mets in New York.

With Sunday’s 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies, Reds skipper Terry Francona has become the 13th manager in baseball history to reach 2,000 career wins!

Francona is the first to achieve the milestone while managing the Reds and joins Sparky Anderson and Dusty Baker as members of the club who have spent time as the Reds’ manager.
