Letcher County Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

A Letcher County man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Whitesburg Wednesday.

Charles Tackett of Whitesburg was pulled over by a Kentucky State Police trooper who alleged he ran a stop sign.

Mountain Top News cites arrest records alleging when Tackett leaned over to reach into his glove box, the officer spotted a pill wrapped in cellophane.

A drug sniffing K9 was deployed and KSP alleges a search turned up oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax, Lortab and Suboxone.

Tackett was reportedly arrested and charged with six counts of first-degree drug trafficking and more.
