A Pike County Circuit judge facing federal fraud charges has asked for his indictment to
be thrown out.
Howard Keith Hall is set to go on trial in November to face allegations that while he was the Pike County Attorney, he paid an assistant about $440,000 but that person did no actual work.
Hall was indicted by a grand jury in April.
Mountain Top News reports in a motion filed recently, Hall says the charges are based on false premises that part-time assistant county attorneys were required to work 100 hours per month while he claims no such minimum hour requirement exists under Kentucky law
for part-time workers.
There has been no response yet from the judge or prosecutors
