PSC Says Any KY Power Rate Hike Request Would in 2026

If Kentucky Power is allowed to raise rates, it won’t happen until next year.

As we reported last week, Kentucky Power has asked the Kentucky Public Service
Commission for permission to raise the rates up 7.5% from their wholesale rate due to
what they call inflation and other factors.

But Mountain Top News reports that last week the PSC said they need more time to look into why Kentucky Power wants the rate hike, and if it happens it would not be until January 31, 2026.

And the PSC says there will be a full public hearing on the request before then.
