Ground has been broken on the final section of the Mountain Parkway Expansion which is a 13-mile stretch of new four-lane highway connecting Salyersville to Prestonsburg.
Governor Andy Beshear was on hand Monday for the ceremony to mark the “beginning of the end” of the 45-mile, billion-dollar Mountain Parkway Expansion officials say will link Eastern Kentucky to the rest of the Commonwealth.
The Governor says the overall goals are safer travel, better jobs, and new opportunities for Eastern Kentucky.
