Pike County Man Arrested for Firing Gun Toward Crowded Football Field

A Pike County man is facing charges for allegedly firing a gun in the direction of a high
school football field where kids were out practicing.

Kentucky State Police allege Brian Irick was shooting a pistol outside the Douglas Park Apartments in the direction of the Shelby Valley football field where football and cheerleading practice were happening.

The arrest report alleges Irick told troopers he knew there was practice at the time and
was not aiming at anything.

No one was hurt.

Irick is charged with wanton endangerment and was being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
