MCHC Receives Grant for New Autism Center in Letcher County

Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation has received a $1.5 million grant toward
building their new Autism Center.

Officials say the $4 million center is being built on a site along KY 15 between Van and Dry Fork formerly used by the Lake Coal Company.

The Mountain Eagle reports the money is from an Abandoned Mine Lands Economic
Revitalization grant.

MCHC says the Autism Center will help diagnose and deliver early treatment much closer to home than some Eastern Kentucky parents currently have to travel to get help for their kids which they are sometimes not even able to do.
