The Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund — founded by musicians Tyler Childers and Senora May — is celebrating its fifth anniversary by donating $500,000 in grants across Appalachia.
The funding supports projects focused on food security, addiction recovery, housing, and sustainable farming.
Organizers say they’re proud to give back to the region that shaped them.
Since launching in 2020, the fund’s helped dozens of local groups strengthen communities throughout eastern Kentucky and beyond.
