You can learn how to make maple syrup at an event later this month at Southdown Farm.
You’ll learn what trees to target, how and when to tap, what equipment you’ll need, how to turn sap into syrup, and how to sell it.
They say each participant will go home with a tapping kit.
Beginners and backyard tappers are welcome.
The event will be taught by Shad Baker, the CEA for Ag & Natural Resources and Seth Long, who is a well-known regional producer.
It’s on Tuesday, October 28 at Southdown Farm located on Craft’s Colley.
