There could be a delay in the murder trial of three men accused in connection with the
death of a Prestonsburg woman more than two years ago.
M.K. McKinney is charged with murder and his father Dr. Michael McKinney and acquaintance Josh Mullins are charged with tampering with evidence in the death of Amber Spradlin at the McKinney home in June 2023.
WYMT reports with the trial currently set to start December 1, Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner has asked for a delay saying there are still 33 items to be analyzed for DNA that will not be done by December 1.
So far there is no response from the defense or the judge in the case about the motion for the delay.
