Pikeville Medical Center has reportedly purchased the Town and Country Shopping
Center and apparently plans to turn it into a childcare center for the employees of local
businesses. Mountain Top News reports what’s being called the Appalachian Valley
Angel Academy could host up to 300 kids in an effort to help those who operate or work
for small businesses. Officials say they are specifically eyeing the Super Dollar space
and maybe one other of the currently six vacant store fronts.
