The judge who was appointed to cover Letcher County District Court following the death
of Judge Kevin R. Mullins last year says he plans to run for election to keep the job.
The Mountain Eagle reports this will be the first time District Judge Nick Whitaker has run for public office.
He has previously served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney and an Assistant County Attorney.
