Buckhorn High School’s UNITE Club has once again been recognized as Unite Club of
the Year, for their community service project with the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center
in Hazard.
The Hazard Herald reports the students prepared Christmas bags for each veteran, featuring a personalized, painted ornament, a hand-colored Christmas card and a card acknowledging their service.
Buckhorn High competed against 24 schools in seven counties to win the UNITE Club award for the second consecutive year.
