The third round and region championships of the KHSAA high school football playoffs were played Friday night across the mountains and state of Kentucky.
Here in the mountains:
Class A
Pikeville beat Middlesboro 42-14
Class 2A
Belfry over Breathitt County 41-14
Beechwood shutout Prestonsburg 42-0
Class 3A
Bell County over Lawrence County 16-6
Class 4A
Corbin upset Highlands 35-21
So the state semifinals are now set for this Friday night and 4 mountain teams, Pikeville, Belfry, Bell County and Corbin are still playing for a state title.

The Kentucky high school football state Championship games will be played Dec. 5-6 at UK’s Kroger Field in Lexington.
