There is a new trial date and a new bond arrangement for the main suspect in the 2022 murder of Amber Spradlin.
On Monday a judge granted the Commonwealth more time for the state forensics lab to complete its evidence and DNA testing, with the trial that was set to start this month now scheduled for May 11.
Michael “M.K.” McKinney is charged with murder and his bond has been set at $5 million dollars cash.
His attorney, who had argued against the delay, says it means an even more pressing need to lower his bond.
The judge said he could post $1 million in property and 10% of the remaining $4 million, or $400,000, in cash, but he would have to stay on home incarceration.
