LCC Girls Win Two Games at UVA, LCC Boys Lose to Raceland

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars won two games in the 10th annual Powell Valley National Bank Girls Tip-Off Classic at UVA-Wise.

Friday night they beat Unicoi County out of Tennessee 66-49.  

The LCC girls were led by Alli Bailey with 24 points and Molly Caudill with 12 points.

Then on Saturday, the LCC Lady Cougars win over Lee High VA 53-29.  

Molly Caudill had 10 points, and Kaylee Baker had 21 points to lead the LCC girls. 

Junior Kaylee Baker made the all-tournament team.   

The Lady Cougars are now 2-2 on the season. 

The Letcher County Central Cougar boys fall to 0-2 as they came up short to the Raceland Rams 80-73 on Saturday in the Boyd County Roundball Classic.

The LCC boys and girls basketball teams will next play a district doubleheader Monday at June Buchanan.  Girls play at 6 and the boys around 7:30pm.

Then Tuesday LCC will have another district doubleheader as they take on Cordia at Cougar gym.   Girls at 6, boys at 7:30pm.  We’ll bring you  both games of the Tuesday doubleheader here on the Bulldog with Michael Watts and Greg “Bull” Creech.  The Precision Inc. Cougar countdown pregame show begins around 5:30pm.  

The Jenkins boys and girls will next play this Wednesday December 10 at JI Burton in Norton VA.

The Lady Cavaliers play at 6:00pm followed by the Cavalier boys around 7:30pm.

It will be the season opener for the Jenkins boys as their Friday game with ACTS was postponed and rescheduled for February due to the weather.
