Police Searching for Person Responsible for Vandalizing Officers Mural in Allen

Prestonsburg Police are on the hunt for a vandal who spray painted a mural of three Floyd County officers and a police K9 who were killed in an ambush attack in Allen three years ago.

Police Chief Ross Shurtleff says the vandal specifically painted on the faces of Prestonsburg officers Jacob Chaffins and Ralph Frasure, Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy William Petry and K-9 Drago on the mural which was commissioned by the town and painted by artist Peyton Andrew Martin who is also the son of an officer who worked with officer Fraure.

Chief Shurtleff says he has told his team to allocate any needed resources to find the perpetrator.

The officers were killed in an ambush shootout while responding to a domestic violence call.
