There’s been a delay in a hearing on whether former Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines should be allowed bond while awaiting trial for the September 2024 murder of Letcher County Judge Kevin Mullins.
A hearing yesterday in Letcher County was abruptly postponed before it started with the Special Judge in the case Christopher Cohron stating an issue arose before the hearing.
Cohron did not disclose the issue but called it crucial that they get it ironed out before continuing the hearing.
Neither of the attorneys could comment on the so-called issue.
The judge says he will set a new hearing date for the bond, and other motions, once it’s resolved.
