Nearly 80 residents and business owners turned out Thursday evening at the Perry County Fiscal Courtroom for the Kentucky Public Service Commission’s public comment meeting about Kentucky Power’s request to raise rates about 15% next year.
PSC Chairwoman Angie Hatton said at the meeting the PSC was not there to answer questions about Kentucky Power so much as to listen to what customers had to say.
Many spoke about the history of rate increases over the last several years and various impacts and hardships they have had.
If you did not make the meeting, you can still give feedback on the PSC website.
The PSC is not expected to make a decision until June.
