Cougars Fall to Powell County in Heartbreaker at 14th Region Tournament

The boys 14th region basketball tournament got underway last night at the Woods Coliseum in Jackson at Breathitt County High School.  

In game one, Perry County Central got by Breathitt County 64-55.

Game two was an exciting and hard fought battle, but the Letcher County Central Cougar boys season comes to an end with a 73-71 loss to Powell County.  

The Cougars and Coach Trevor Noble finish the season at 17-14 and say goodbye to seniors Harrison Addington, Stephen Bingham, Terry Delaney and Logan Conn.  

Powell County will now advance to the region semifinals to face Perry County Central on Saturday.  

The other two boys 14th region opening round games tonight will be Knott County Central taking on Hazard at 6:00pm followed by Lee County facing Wolfe County around 7:45pm in Jackson.
