Two Enter Alford Pleas in Pike County Child Abuse Case

Two people from Pike County could get up to 10 years in prison after entering pleas on charges of repeated child abuse.

Jerome Norman and Mary Hall entered Alford pleas pleas are like guilty pleas, where the people don’t admit guilt but do admit there’s enough evidence that they could be convicted.

The abuse came to light when the child, a boy, stopped coming to school last year and was injured when he came back.

Mountain Top News reports the arrest report showed there were other children in the home that were not abused but yet this boy showed signs of alleged torture.

Hall and Norman will be sentenced next month.
