A Pike County mine business has confirmed some employee layoffs.
Last month Clintwood JOD issued letters saying the company was suspending employees until further notice due to “unforeseen circumstances outside of their control” but in follow up letters sent last week they said those suspensions are now a permanent layoff and suggested the workers immediately apply for unemployment benefits.
Some workers who received the letter tell WYMT they believe it affected more than 60 people.
