Chase Burns pitched five scoreless innings and didn’t give up a hit until the fifth as Cincinnati claimed a 2-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park Monday night.
It was the first win of Burns’ Major League career.
The Reds are now 3-1 on the young season.
Game two for the Reds and Pirates at GABP will be Tuesday night at 6:40pm with the series finale on Wednesday afternoon at 12:40pm.
