The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars softball won at Hazard 5-4 Monday night in an exciting 14th Region matchup.
The LCC girls were down 4-3 in the top of the 6th inning when Sarah Richardson homered to center field, scoring two runs to put them ahead 5-4 and they held on for the big win.
The 7-6 Lady Cougars softball will have another road game Tuesday evening at Eastside VA starting at 6:00pm.
The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball team improves to 6-1 with a nice district win over Knott County Central 11-1 in 5 innings Monday night at home.
It was the opening round of the 14th Region All A softball tournament.
The Lady Cavaliers will now move on to play Hazard in the second round of the All A on Wednesday at home with a game time at 6:00pm.
