The trial is set for May 11 for three men accused of their involvement in the death of Amber Spradlin of Prestonsburg in 2023.
On Thursday a judge denied a motion to delay the trial for MK McKinney, who is charged with murder, and his father Michael McKinney and friend Josh Mullins, who are charged with evidence tampering.
Prosecutors wanted a delay to wait for more DNA forensic testing that may not be ready by the trial, but the judge said after weighing several issues, including the feelings of the victim’s family, he ruled the May 11 date will stay put.
