Kentucky Power has filed paperwork to ask for approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission to build a new power plant.
The documents submitted so far don’t say where it is, how big it will be or what it might cost.
The Mountain Eagle reports Kentucky Power and other power supplies have been concerned about the long-term reliability of Kentucky’s grid.
Meanwhile Kentucky Power is under more scrutiny from the PSC with an audit ordered after the PSC approved a rate hike in March.
