Correctional Officer Accused Of Bringing Drugs Into Prison

A now former correctional officer is facing charges for allegedly bringing drugs into the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex. 

Kentucky State Police say 60-year-old Joe Cress was caught smuggling illegal narcotics into the facility while working as an officer. 

He now faces charges of promoting contraband, trafficking in controlled a controlled substance, and official misconduct. 

Cress was terminated from his position this week.
