HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WXKQ) – A Cumberland man has been acquitted in connection to the death of a woman in Harlan County.
A jury found Michael Cornett not guilty in the death of Stacy Houser from an incident stemming from March of 2023.
KSP and Cumberland Police responded to a home on School Road in Cumberland after 911 received a call from Cornett, saying he had shot his girlfriend in self-defense after she threatened to kill him while reaching for a knife.
Houser, 31, was found dead in a bedroom.
