Letcher County Central High School has named Brandon Haynes as its new Football Head Coach.
Haynes brings 15 years of coaching experience to LCC football, previously serving as the Running Backs coach at the University of Pikeville.
He replaces Junior Matthews, who led the Cougars for 10 seasons and retired this offseason.
Letcher County Central has also released its 2026 Football Schedule.
The Cougars open their season against Johnson Central at Shelby Valley on August 22 at 6:00pm in the Blue and White Bowl.
Letcher Co. Central will then play at Leslie County, followed by three home games in a row against Shelby Valley, Perry County Central, and Breathitt County.
LCC will then play at Lawrence County, at home against Estill County and Magoffin County before traveling to Powell County and wrapping up the regular season at Belfry.
