FRANKFORT, Ky. (WXKQ) – A new reports say one in five Kentuckians were food insecure between 2022 and 2024.
According to the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy, many Kentucky families have no consistent access to enough food.
Food pantry workers say with ongoing inflation and SNAP benefits cuts, the numbers could climb even higher.
Kentucky had the second highest food insecurity rate in the nation at 18.8%, behind Arkansas at 19.4%.
