Basketball Cats Escape With OT Win Over St. Joseph’s Monday Night

The No. 16 basketball Wildcats escaped the Saint Joseph’s Hawks, winning in overtime 96-88 last night at Rupp Arena.

The game was tied at 77 at the end of regulation. 

In the end, it was a pair of clutch three-pointers in overtime from veteran forward Tre Mitchell that sealed the win for UK. 

Mitchell ended with 22 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four blocks in a team-high 41 minutes played. 

He was aided by fellow fifth-year senior Antonio Reeves, who chipped in 20 points.

Freshmen DJ Wagner was named the player of the game with 22 points.

Rob Dillingham with 13 and Justin Edwards with 12 also finished in double-figure scoring. 

The Cats will next suqare off in Rupp Arena this Friday Nov. 24 against Marshall.
