After Public Hearings, KY Power Proposes Smaller Rate Increase

Kentucky Power has stepped back from its proposal to raise rates by more than 18% next year. Following a series of public impact hearings held by the Public Service Commission, on Monday Kentucky Power announced they’d asked the PSC to consider a residential rate increase of less than 11%. The PSC still has to approve it which could happen in January. As part of a deal Kentucky Power has agreed to extend due dates for customers and double its contribution toward its residential assistance program.
