It was a busy weekend of high school basketball in the mountains.
The Letcher County Central Cougars boys led at halftime but lost at Hazard Friday night at memorial gym, 48-35.
The Cougar boys responded with a 54-50 win over Belfry in the ARH Big Lou Classic on Saturday.
The LCC boys are now 5-4
The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars won over Belfry 65-57 Friday night in the Big Lou Classic.
Saturday, the LCC girls lost to Mercer County 59-53 in the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic at Lexington Christian.
On Sunday they played Spencer County in the Jim Rose Classic and lost 43-34.
The now 4-4 Lady Cougars of LCC will wrap up their play today in the Jim Rose Classic when they face Martin County at 12 noon.
The Jenkins Cavalier boys and Jenkins Lady Cavaliers girls played 2 boys/girls doubleheaders this weekend.
Friday they played at Twin Springs, VA. The Cavalier boys won 64-60. The Lady Cavaliers lost 63-41.
The Jenkins boys now have a record of 6-3 and the Jenkins girls are 2-5.
