Clemson Hands Kentucky a Tough Loss in Exciting Gator Bowl

Kentucky and Clemson battled it out in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Friday afternoon in Jacksonsville, Florida.

In an exciting, emotional game that saw a combined 42 points scored in the 4th quarter alone, Clemson’s Phil Mafah scored the go ahead and game winning TD with 17 seconds left in the game. There were 7 scores and 4 lead-changes in that 4th quarter but also 3 big Kentucky turnovers.

The Tigers beat Kentucky 38-35 as the Cats blew an 11-point lead.

Sophomore Barrion Brown was named the Kentucky MVP of the game as he ran for a 22-yard touchdown, caught a 60-yard touchdown and ran a kickoff back for a 100-yard touchdown, the longest play in the 79-year history of the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

With the tough loss, Kentucky finishes the season at 7-6, after starting the season at 5-0.
