Water has been restored to parts of Fleming-Neon that have been without since the beginning of the month. Mayor Ricky Burke declared a State of Emergency January 5 when the water level fell to a critically low level, leading to a system wide boil advisory. WYMT reports as of Thursday officials said with the help of Jenkins and Letcher County they were able to feed the system enough water to give the city’s well time to recover. However, officials are warning the current weather brings potential for broken pipes.
