Polly Johnson Potter

Polly Johnson Potter, age 94, of Jenkins, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

She is survived by 2 grandchildren: Shelby Daylong and Tommy Bolling; 5 great grandchildren: Tyler Daylong, Kayla Longstreath, Shawn Bolling, B.J. Allen and Bethany Pelfrey.

Funeral services for Polly Johnson Potter will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Lowrey officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm Friday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking, Kentucky.

Elizabeth Ann Kiser

Elizabeth Ann Kiser, 67, of McRoberts, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her husband: Reno Kiser; 2 daughters: Rebecca Ann Baker and Kayla Elizabeth Stanley; 3 step kids: April Dawn Abdoo, Shane Reno Kiser and Seth Adam Kiser; 2 brothers: Greg Ratliff and Brad Ratliff; 1 sister: Ervalene Odom; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Elizabeth Ann Kiser will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the McRoberts First Missionary Baptist Church with Danny Quillen and Bill Craft officiating.

Astor Fields Jr.

Astor Fields Jr., age 72, of Whitesburg, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Whitesburg ARH. 

He is survived by his wife: Judy Faye Fields; 1 daughter: Pamela Ann Dawes of Whitesburg; 1 son: John Dawes of Whitesburg; 1 brother: Terry Mark Fields of Big Cowan; 1 sister: Brenda Elizabeth Mullins of Eolia; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services for Astor Fields Jr. will be held at 11:00am tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with John Conn and Don Mullins officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Florida Elam Holcomb

Florida Elam Holcomb, age 98, of Hallie, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Hazard ARH.

She is survived by 3 sons: Doug Holcomb of Hallie, Wesley “Wes”Holcomb and Levi Lundy Holcomb both of Maces Creek; 3 daughters: Lily Fay Coley of West Virginia, Wanda Bandell and Nancy Cornett both of Hallie along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 11:00am tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services for Florida Elam Holcomb will follow at 1:00pm Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home with Wes Holcomb and Clyde Bentley officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Clint Ison Cemetery at Hallie.

Kenneth P. Hall

Kenneth P. Hall, age 82, of Jenkins passed away on Thursday January 18, 2024, at the Whitesburg ARH.

He is survived by his wife: Doris Holbrook Hall of Jenkins; 2 daughters: Kenna Webb of Jenkins and Denita Carter of Burdine; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life service for Kenneth P. Hall will be held at 6:00pm Wednesday January 24, 2024, at the Hemphill Freewill Baptist 

Church at Jackhorn with Danny Hurst officiating. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 6:00pm at the Hemphill Freewill Baptist 

Church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hemphill Freewill Baptist Church.

Jennifer Lynn Metcalf, age 65, of Cumberland passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024  at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She is survived by her children: Tracy Devore, Ronald Neal, Jessica Neal Dawn Metcalf and Dalton Metcalf; step-children: Michelle Metcalf and April Howell; 1 brother: David Roark; 1 brother-in-law: Tom Hummell; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jennifer Lynn Metcalf will be held from 1:00 to 3:00pm Saturday January 27, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.
