George Frank Johnson

George Frank Johnson, age 73, of Dunham passed away Tuesday January 23, 2024 at his residence. 

He is survived by 2 sons: Marlin Johnson of Marion, OH and Kevin Johnson of Jenkins; 1 daughter: Natisha Wetherill of Fishers, IN, 3 sisters: Emma Lee Warren of Gloucester, Va, Linda Jean Newsome of Dunham and Elizabeth Gibson of Dalton, GA; 3 brothers: Chase Johnson of Dalton, GA, Albert Johnson of Dunham and Teddy Bear Johnson of Dunham; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church after 6:00pm this evening, Friday, with services beginning at 7:00pm.

There will also be a visitation beginning at 11:00am tomorrow, Saturday. 

Funeral services for George Frank Johnson will follow at 1:00pm tomorrow, Saturday, at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Greg Polly and Van Webb officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Johnson – Sanders Cemetery at Dunham.

Tony “Red Eye” Wilson

Tony “Red Eye” Wilson, age 57, of Whitco, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his residence.  

He is survived by his parents: Sharmane and Daryl Hale of Whitco; stepmother: Mary Katherine Wilson of Whitesburg; 2 daughters: Megan Jo Wilson of Whitesburg, Tennessee and Morgan Neil Ryan of Lexington; 2 brothers: Greg Hale of Whitco and Toby Maggard of Kingscreek; 2 sisters: Tracy Miles of Cowan and Annie Collins of Wilmore; 3 grandchildren; 9 nephews and nieces: 1 aunt: Marylyn Stewart and a special sister: Renee Campbell. 

Funeral services for Tony “Red Eye” Wilson will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft and Jimmy Dotson officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Polly Johnson Potter

Polly Johnson Potter, age 94, of Jenkins, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

She is survived by 2 grandchildren: Shelby Daylong and Tommy Bolling; 5 great grandchildren: Tyler Daylong, Kayla Longstreath, Shawn Bolling, B.J. Allen and Bethany Pelfrey.

Funeral services for Polly Johnson Potter will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Lowrey officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Friday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking, Kentucky.

Elizabeth Ann Kiser

Elizabeth Ann Kiser, 67, of McRoberts, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her husband: Reno Kiser; 2 daughters: Rebecca Ann Baker and Kayla Elizabeth Stanley; 3 step children: April Dawn Abdoo, Shane Reno Kiser and Seth Adam Kiser; 2 brothers: Greg Ratliff and Brad Ratliff; 1 sister: Ervalene Odom; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Elizabeth Ann Kiser will be held at 2:00pm tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the McRoberts First Missionary Baptist Church with Danny Quillen and Bill Craft officiating.

Anna Sue Florek, age 75, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at her residence. 

She is survived by her husband: Richard “Dickie” Florek; 3 children: Charlotte Florek-Brown of Clinton, TN, Richard Florek of Lexington and Brad Florek of Cumberland; 4 grandchildren and 1 brother: Charles Blanton of Russiaville, Indiana.  

There will be a graveside service Anna Sue Florek and a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Genellis “Bug” Hamilton, age 87, of Hindman formerly of Kite, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hindman.

She is Survived by:

Odabe Halcomb, age 87, of Leatherwood, passed away on Thursday January 18, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.

He is survived by 1 son: Sam Halcomb of Leatherwood. 

Visitation will be held after 11:00am this morning, Friday January 26, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard.

Jennifer Lynn Metcalf, age 65, of Cumberland passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024  at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She is survived by her children: Tracy Devore, Ronald Neal, Jessica Neal Dawn Metcalf and Dalton Metcalf; step-children: Michelle Metcalf and April Howell; 1 brother: David Roark; 1 brother-in-law: Tom Hummell; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jennifer Lynn Metcalf will be held from 1:00 to 3:00pm tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.
