The Pikeville Lady Panthers made it to the girls All A State Championship game and took on defending champion, Covington Holy Cross in the title game Sunday afternoon at the Arena in Corbin.
Pikeville led by 4 points going into the 4th quarter but ending up losing to Holy Cross in a heartbreaker 56-55.
Pikeville senior Trinity Rowe led both teams in scoring, finishing the game with 21 points.
This marks Holy Cross’ second straight All “A” championship and their third title in 10 years.
Newport is the Boys All A State Champion. They beat Evangel Christian 69-62 in overtime Sunday afternoon in the championship game at the Corbin Arena.
