Some Perry County parents are reportedly not too happy with a proposed location for a new elementary school. The Perry County School Board has been scouting locations for the new South Perry Elementary which will consolidate Viper and R.W. Combs Elementaries. WYMT reports while they are looking at several locations, recent interest in some land in Scuddy has spawned a petition against it. The writer of the petition says Scuddy is not central so kids in communities like Leatherwood, Viper, Christopher, Delphia and more could have a 50 minute car ride which would likely be longer on a bus.
